which covid vaccine is safe?

In india there is lots of people which have one similar question, Is vaccine is safe or which vaccine is safe? 

So here we talk about vaccine`s. There is two vaccine`s present in india and recently russia`s vaccine sputnik v was given emergency use authorisation. so bascially it will be the third vaccine, which will be administered in india.

1) Covishield 

2) Covaxin

Covishield has been developed by the oxford-astrazeneca and is being manufactured by the serum institute of india (SII).

2) Covaxin

Covaxin has been developed by hyderabad based bharat biotech international ltd in association with the indian council of medical research (ICMR) and the national institute of virology (NIV).

Type of vaccine

1) Covishield 

Covishield has been prepared using the viral vector platform. the exact technology was used to prepare vaccines for viruses like ebola.

2) Covaxin

Covaxin is an inactivated vaccine, which has been preapred on a tried and tested platform of dead viruses. there are vaccines for some other diseases like rabies and polio which are made using the same technology.

Doses

1) Covishield 

Covishield`s second dose could be delayed, i.e. given 6-8 weeks after.

2) Covaxin

Covaxin`s second dose needs to be given 4-6 weeks after the first one.

Efficacy 

1) Covishield 

Covishield, which wrapped up trails in november last year carries an efficacy rate 70%, which could be further scaled up to 90% if the dosing is given half a dose, followed by a full dose a month later.

2) Covaxin 

As per interim results and clinical studies, covaxin was found to carry 78% efficacy. there is clinical evidence that suggests that covaxin could reduce severity and mortality risk of whopping 100%.

Side effects

1) Covishield 

1 in 4 people experience mild, short lived systemic side effects. systemic effects included headache, fatigue, chills and shiver, diarrhoea, fever, arthralgia, myalgia, and nausea.

2) Covaxin

The mild side effects of covaxin include injection site pain, injection site swelling, injection site redness, injection site itching, stiffness in the upper arm, weakness in the injection arm, body ache, headache, fever, malaise, weakness, rashes, nausea, vomiting.
